The World's Most Valuable Company Has Delivered Another Indication that AI Agents will be Ubiquitous

Tech giant Nvidia is emphasising its future on AI agents, announcing software and hardware updates to facilitate their development.

Key highlights include tools for AI helpers based on the OpenClaw platform and new computing racks aimed at powering these agents, marking a strategic shift from its primary focus on graphics processing units.

At NVIDIA's annual GTC conference in San Jose, CEO Jensen Huang, wearing his iconic black leather jacket, made several important announcements, highlighting the event's significance in the AI industry.

NVIDIA Pushes AI Agents into the Mainstream

NVIDIA's announcements are significant as many major companies depend on its systems for training and powering their AI services, suggesting that its new products often influence technologies across the AI industry.

NVIDIA has introduced software tools aimed at assisting companies in developing AI agents, which include models and guidelines for creating specialised assistants. Additionally, it is launching resources for building agents on OpenClaw that incorporate privacy and security controls, addressing cybersecurity concerns associated with this popular agent.

Moreover, NVIDIA announced that its resources enable OpenClaw agents to access systems and files while maintaining security and privacy. Huang mentioned collaborating with OpenClaw's creator, Peter Steinberger, who has recently joined OpenAI.

Huang described OpenClaw as the “operating system for personal AI,” underscoring its significance comparable to that of Mac and Windows operating systems. He claimed that OpenClaw has become the most popular open-source project in history within just a few weeks.

NVIDIA Ramps Up Its AI Agent Strategy

NVIDIA has introduced updates to its Vera Rubin computing platform, now featuring seven chips in full production, including a new central computing rack based on central processing units (CPUs) rather than its traditional graphics processing units (GPUs). This shift is aimed at enhancing the computing processes essential for AI agents.

The company is integrating Groq's high-speed language processing units (LPUs) into its systems, following Nvidia's $20 billion deal with Groq in November.

Besides, AI agents, distinct from AI chatbots, can autonomously perform tasks such as website building, marketing pitch creation, and email dispatching. NVIDIA is focusing heavily on AI agents, influenced by the success of OpenClaw and Anthropic's Claude Code and Cowork agents.

Huang stresses the necessity for every company to adopt an OpenClaw strategy, likening its significance to that of HTML and Linux in the evolution of computing.

Regent Training solutions provide flexible on-site sessions delivered by expert trainers that are customised to the organisation's goals and culture. These dynamic sessions suit team schedules and focus on quantifiable results with a significant business impact.

NVIDIA Forecasts Soaring AI Demand—All the Way to Space

NVIDIA is launching a space module for Vera Rubin to incorporate its technology into data centres in space, a growing interest for tech companies. Notable figures like OpenAI's Sam Altman and Elon Musk have discussed the potential of using space to power data centres and AI systems.

Furthermore, NVIDIA is shifting its focus from traditional computing to emphasise networking in the evolving landscape of AI, according to Wedbush analyst Dan Ives, prior to NVIDIA's conference.

Huang's speech on Monday highlighted the enduring hype surrounding AI and Nvidia, presenting a vision of an AI-driven future with continuously increasing chip demand. He projected Nvidia's revenue could reach $1 trillion by 2027, citing a fundamental shift where AI's capability for productive work marks a significant inflexion point in inference.
