Communication for Development (C4D) uses evidence, participation, dialogue, and strategic communication to support development initiatives and strengthen engagement with communities and stakeholders. Effective C4D requires professionals to understand not only how messages are communicated, but also how social, behavioural, cultural, and community factors influence change.
The Communication for Development (C4D) course provides participants with a structured understanding of C4D principles, planning processes, behavioural and social change theories, research methods, and monitoring and evaluation. Participants explore how communication strategies can be informed by evidence and adapted to different audiences and development contexts.
Across three focused days, the programme combines conceptual frameworks with practical planning and evaluation approaches. Participants learn how to develop C4D initiatives, apply relevant theories of change, conduct research, engage communities, monitor implementation, and evaluate communication activities and their contribution to development objectives.
