Building Practical Monitoring, Evaluation, and Data Analysis Capabilities
Effective monitoring and evaluation (M&E) enables organisations to understand whether projects are progressing as planned, resources are being used effectively, and intended results are being achieved. A well-designed M&E system provides reliable evidence for decision-making, accountability, learning, and continuous project improvement.
The Preparation Course for Certified Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist (CMES) provides participants with a structured understanding of the essential concepts, methods, and tools used throughout the monitoring and evaluation process. Across five days, participants explore M&E frameworks, results chains, logical frameworks, indicators, data collection methods, sampling, data quality, and analysis.
The programme combines core M&E principles with practical application. Participants work with logical frameworks, questionnaires, interview guides, sampling approaches, and quantitative and qualitative data to strengthen their ability to support effective monitoring and evaluation activities while reinforcing knowledge relevant to CMES preparation.
