Building Practical Knowledge for Healthy Crops and Sustainable Production
Successful crop production depends on understanding the relationship between plants, soil, water, nutrients, seeds, crop protection, and harvesting practices. Agronomy brings these elements together to support healthy crop development, efficient resource use, and consistent agricultural performance.
The Fundamentals of Agronomy and Crop Management course provides participants with a practical foundation in crop production and management. Across five days, participants explore plant growth, crop selection, soil health, nutrient management, irrigation, weed and pest control, seed management, harvesting, and post-harvest practices.
The programme follows the crop production cycle from establishing suitable growing conditions through to harvest and storage. Participants develop the knowledge required to recognise common crop and soil challenges, apply appropriate management practices, and support productive and sustainable agricultural operations.
